Cognition Cockpit manages the many interrelationships between design
factors as they relate to customer requirements. As an integral
part of any Design for Six Sigma effort, this software allows for the
exploration of variation at the lowest level in a design and how it
statistically translates into what the customer can expect. These
relationships are almost impossible to embrace with traditional
spreadsheets and databases, let alone manually.

As its name implies, Crystal Ball is a (powerful) predictive tool
utilizing Monte Carlo Simulation. This is especially important
when input variables can fluctuate with not-so-perfect "textbook
curves," allowing one to model probable outputs via random
sampling of input data. Many thousands of trials may be executed
within a few seconds, allowing for realistic simulations of what will
happen in the proverbial "real world."

MiniTab is the main statistical software
employed at
Genesis, used to generate many of our analyses. This product
performs a multitude of tasks, ranging anywhere from the basics through
multi-variate analysis, utilizing an intuitive spreadsheet-like format
for data entry. |

Mathcad is a general mathematics software offering with tools for
Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, etc. Also
available are task-specific modules, including Signal Processing, Data
Analysis, and Image Analysis (which module is used by Genesis for
vision-based solutions). Solutions are expressed numerically or
symbolically. |

Miner3D is a very potent data visualization tool, allowing one to
examine the relationships between six datasets simultaneously.
This is done via the "normal" x, y, and z axes, along with color, size,
and labels. Given the first step in any data analysis should be
visualization, this tool is invaluable for complicated problems.
As an added benefit it also performs k-means clustering, which is very
important in identifying multi-variate data groups. |

Microsoft Excel is known as a spreadsheet tool, but it is capable of so
much more, even statistical calculations. Almost all Genesis
analyses include this mainstay of calculations, as Excel is very
flexible, in addition to being extremely powerful. In fact the
Genesis Innovation Online Statistics Calculator is based upon Excel.
